Sports for All!

Scorching sunshine meant that our sports for all day was a real success! We played unihoc, made our way round obstacle courses, practiced hula hooping, ran relays, dodged balls and went on a hunt for lost shoes. It was our last sports day in Scoil Nioclais and was a very memorable one!

Our Maori Dance!

This month in our music programme we've been learning sporting anthems and chants, which gave us a good excuse to learn the words and actions to the famous Haka, which originates from the 1820's. It is usually performed by the All Blacks Rugby team before going into 'battle', but we practiced it in school today and frightened a few junior infants who were looking on!

Indoor Bowls with Jack!

Some boys from our class have been learning how to play indoor bowls with mentor Jack Lynch and are hoping to take part in a tournament between schools around the city. Its different to the sports we usually play in Scoil Nioclais and the boys are really enjoying it.
