Nollag

An Nollaig
Dhúisigh mé ar a seacht a chlog maidin na Nollaig. D’oscail mé  doras an seomra sui. Chonaic mé bronntanas ar an
talamh. Lig mé béic asam mar bhí an seomra lán le bronntanais. D’oscail mé an brontanas mór ar dtús. Bhí iPad istigh sa bhosca.
Tar éis tamaill chonaic mé an sneachta ag
titim amach an fhuinneog. D’fhág mé an bronntanas agus rith mé amach an doras agus thosaigh mé ag pleícíocht sa sneachta. Bhí Hannah in éineacht liom. Rinneamar fear sneachta. Chuir mé caréid ar a adhaigh, háta ar a cheann agus scarfa freisin. Bhí sé go halainn. Dúirt Mamaí go raibh an
dhinnear réidh. Rith mé isteach sa theach agus d’ith mé cairéid, prataí, turcaí agus bachloga Bruiséile le mo chlann. Tar éis an príomhcúrsa d’ith me an mhilseog.  Nuair a chríochnaigh mé an dinnéar bhí mo bolg lán.

An Nollag

Oíche Nollag a bhi ann. Bhí sé ag cur sneachta amuigh sa gháirdín. Bhí a lán maisiúcháin ag crochadh sa sheomra suí. Bhí an crann Nollag maisithe go háilainn. Bhí trí coinnle ag
lasadh agus bhí na stocaí Nollag réidh. Bhí na páistí ar bís agus bhí siad nerbhíseach freisin. An dtiocfaidh Daidí na
Nollag? Phioc siad cúpla píosa cuillean agus chroch Daidí an cuillean ar na phictuirí sa halla. Ansin, chuaigh na páistí amach sa gháirdín agus thosaigh siad ag déanamh fear sneachta. Frosty ag ainm dó. Tar éis tamaill, chuaigh siad ar ais isteach sa theach mar bhi sé an-fuar . Shuigh siad os
comhair na tine agus thosaigh siad ag caint. Ní fhaca siad bronntanas faoin gcrann ó a sheanathair agus a sheanmháthair. Nuair a bhí siad te arís, chuidigh siad Mamaí ag déanamh maróg Nollag agus ansin, tháinig Daidí isteach le turcaí agus liamhás. Chuaigh an chlann go léir ina chodladh an oíche sin. Dhúisigh na paistí go luath ar maidin agus rith siad go tapa síos an staighre go dtí an seomra suí. Tháinig Daidí na Nollag aréir. Thosaigh siad ag súgradh le bronntanais go léir agus rinne Mamaí agus Daidí dinnéar na Nollag. Bhí lá iontach acu.

Allianz Sciath na Scol Final

How we got in the Final

Hello and this is Kayleigh Mulcahy reporting how “ how the girls Sciath Na Scol football team got into the county final”.  We lost against Carrigaline but luckily there was a playoff against Innishannon.  It was very nervewrecking because we thought we were going to be out of the competition.  If Eva Noonan didn’t get the final point before full time we could have been out of the competition.

Sciath Na Scol Final
Hello and this is Kayleigh Mulcahy reporting the Sciath Na Scol FINAL on the 19th November. The final was played in Pairc Uí Rínn.  There were 500 supporters in Pairc Uí rínn. Miss Creedon was screaming her head off!!!! It was a  very exciting event.  My uncle said I was jumping up and down like a jack in the box. When my name was announced I was waving like mad.

How we lost the final

We played our hearts out on the 19th November. We were literally whipped out the gate by Glounthane. They were the strongest team on the day. After the full-time whistle blew we were all bawling crying out on the pitch. Emily Cunningham , the captain was devastated. I gave her a big hug. Then I went over to Miss Creedon  and she gave me a big hug. Afterwards Glounthane gave us a guard of honour. Then we went up to receive our medals.

School Band - 5th and 6th class

The school band returned to after-school rehearsals this month following the big debut performance at the X-mas factor before the holidays. There was an enthusiastic crowd as the band performed 'Rolling in the Deep' and 'Merry Christmas Everyone' for the whole school and parents.
The school band was formed with Ms O' Shea in October 2012, and has since grown, including many instruments and singers. There are talented musicians and singers playing great music in this band. We now look forward to helping the Junior Infants for their Cor Fheile concert. The whole band is looking forward to it!
